Current Programs: Early Periodic Screening, Diagnosis and Treatment (EPSDT) and Coding Education

The Early Periodic Screening, Diagnosis and Treatment (EPSDT) and Coding Education program provides awareness and education regarding age-specific recommendations and appropriate coding and documentation to practices and primary care providers. The Coding Educator performs project activities, including personal office visits, office-based trainings and regional trainings. Other services include printed reference and educational materials and access to resources through the TNAAP website. These activities encourage provision of appropriate services, accurate coding and documentation, and outreach to families to promote well child visits. Ongoing support for existing and new providers will be necessary as factors of the "landscape" change, such as changes in immunizations requirements, regulatory changes and adoption of Electronic Health Records.
